This policy explains what information Read Japan (japan.isseisuzuki.org) collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who runs this site
Read Japan is written and operated by Issei Suzuki, based in Japan. If you have questions about anything here, you can contact me directly.
What I collect
When you contact me
If you use the contact form, I receive the name, email address, and message you provide. I use that information only to reply to you. I don’t add you to any mailing list, and I don’t sell or share it.
When you comment
If commenting is enabled and you leave one, your name, email address, and comment are stored. Your email address isn’t displayed publicly.
Automatically, when you visit
Like most websites, this site collects basic technical information through analytics: pages viewed, approximate location (country or region level), browser and device type, and how you arrived here. This is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally.
Cookies
This site uses cookies — small files stored in your browser — for analytics and, where ads are shown, for advertising. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Some features may work less smoothly if you do.
Third-party services
I use services provided by other companies, and they have their own privacy policies:
Google Analytics — to understand how many people visit and which articles they read. Google’s policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Google Search Console — to see how this site appears in search results.
Google AdSense (if and when ads are displayed) — third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.
Affiliate programs — some links are affiliate links; the retailer may use cookies to track referrals. See my Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it’s used. If you’d like to do any of that, just ask — I’ll handle it myself.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Data security and retention
I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. Contact form messages and comments are kept only as long as they’re useful, and deleted on request.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
